Introducing the project
Hello there,
I'm a french student (17 years old) and I spend my (free) time programming softwares, especially video games.
I'm a strategy lover, and I wanted to make my own one.
When I discovered there was a game-making competition called 'Innov'game' in France, I registered the same day.
So my team passed the first round a month ago, and now we are working on the first release.
The game, Opponium, you guessed it, is a real-time-strategy game, written with ActionScript 3 and running on Flash 10 with Air 1.5 (I'm using FlashDevelop). I started programming with this language 1 year ago, so I don't know if my sources are very well done...
It's in 2D, because I'm not good in 3D and we have no time to do so (only 2 months for the second round, the programming one, but I started 2 months before), but I think it's better to have an animated and comfortable 2D instead of a bad 3D.
The story takes place far away in the future (we don't know exactly when), around a planet-system called 'Ponux', specificaly on a huge robot-satellite, that was a scientific station a long time ago, but it is now deserted.
An explorer of the forgotten worlds lands on it with his space ship, in order to find the precious data about the last plants of the Berdia sector, that were studied here. He discovers that these plants have invaded the entire satellite and became living : they seem to move around him.
Making his way in this vegetation with his four axes, he finds the main computer control room. He also discovers the scientists' corpses and a strange little faded flower, in a bell-glass.
When he finaly wants to retrieve the data, he detects a strange move, and has just the time to turn himself.
Then a horrible scream sounds....
